The people in the Melbourne office were relatable and the interview wasn't intimidating. They were more interested in getting to know me, my background, and my ambitions. They were genuine and mentioned that extensive sales experience isn't crucial for an SDR/BDR position.

The interview process spanned about three weeks. It kicked off with a recruiter screening call, followed by a Zoom meeting with the SDR manager. The final stage was an interview with the Director of Commercial Sales. Everyone I spoke with was genuinely kind and personable, and they were upfront about their expectations and the importance of finding candidates who align with the company culture. Things took an unexpected turn when I didn't receive an offer for the SDR role. Instead, before they officially communicated they were moving in a different direction, I got an email from their implementation team thanking me for my interest in interviewing. This was surprising since I was interviewing for the SDR position. When I asked my contact about this, they finally explained they were pursuing other candidates for the SDR role. They mentioned I was a good cultural fit and suggested implementation might be a better fit for me. Although disappointed about the SDR role, I was open to exploring the implementation opportunity and scheduled an interview for it. Later, I sought feedback from the SDR manager regarding my interest in breaking into tech sales. They explained that they had many strong candidates and limited openings. About 12 hours after this conversation, I saw an SDR opening at Lucid on LinkedIn, indicating they were still hiring for that role. Despite their emphasis on teamwork, I felt there was a lack of communication and potential mismanagement in their process. Consequently, I declined the second interview for the implementation role, feeling that internal mismanagement during hiring might reflect issues within the company.

I got contacted via Linkedin, and the first step was a quick chat with a junior recruiter. After that, there were three more interviews and a role play. The roleplay was supposed to be 30 minutes but ended up being only 3 minutes. For the rest of the time, they really dug into my background and why I want this Sales Dev role. The account executive who was supposed to do the roleplay wasn't even involved. They couldn't give me any feedback afterward, which is weird considering local regulations. The whole process felt disorganized and unprofessional, not what I'd expect from a company that specializes in mapping business processes.
