Was offered an interview for a job I didn't apply for, which had a much lower pay. Midway through, they started bringing up requirements for the original job I applied for. It became unclear which job I was interviewing for and how I was being evaluated, making it hard to talk about my experience.

It was a multi-stage interview process. First, there was a screener to gauge my interest in the company and my past experiences. Then, the second round focused on how my specific experiences applied to the role and its responsibilities. The final round seemed to be a tie-breaker. The whole thing was super well-organized, and you definitely need to be organized too.

The interview process was great, and the interviewer was very friendly. It didn't feel like a formal interview but more like a casual chat with a friend. You could freely express your thoughts, and they offered advice and suggestions. Overall, it was the best interview experience I've had.

So for this EA role supporting two Development Execs, it started with a phone call with HR covering my past admin work and career ambitions. Then I had a video chat with the junior exec, where they asked similar things plus some get-to-know-you questions. Next up was a video interview with the senior exec, which was pretty much the same. They told me after that that the hiring was paused indefinitely, but there would've been two more interview rounds. The fourth would've been in person with both execs, and the fifth with the current EA. They would have also given me some kind of assignment to see how I'd handle coverage.
