There were 3 interviews in total. First two with two superiors, and the last one with the director of the department plus the 2 superiors. They pushed you out of your comfort zone. Wanted to know who you were and what you brought to the table. On the 3rd interview, you had to come up with a program that you would propose to the department and explain it.

I was interviewed by the department chair, who was also my former statistics professor. He was kind and helpful. He described the position and which professors I would be working with. We talked about my career goals and job opportunities that would likely be available to me after I graduated. The entire interview lasted about 45 minutes.
