So first, I had to do this application where I wrote an essay about why I'd be a good fit. Then, there was a behavioral part where they asked about my past research work. It was a panel with people from different research labs, and they were the ones deciding on interns since each lab took different people.

It was a really chill and upfront process. They laid out all the expectations very clearly. They were super flexible with my class schedule, which was a huge relief and never caused any problems. I was anxious beforehand, but it all worked out okay in the end.

Behavioral Technical Other

I had a virtual interview with someone from the team for about an hour. They mentioned that the next steps would be a written assignment and then a final interview with senior leadership. A week later, I got the assignment and spent over 20 hours finishing it. After I sent it in, I didn't hear back for about a month and a half. I reached out to both a recruiter and the HR team just to check on my application and the assignment. The responses were really rude and dismissive, and not professional at all. Instead of an update, they sent me a link and told me to apply again. Right after I applied, I got an automatic rejection. Then I contacted the original team member who interviewed me, and they said they no longer worked there and didn't know who to contact. About a week later, I saw that same person posted on LinkedIn that they got the job. Given the timing and how things happened, it made me really question how they handle candidate work and if they use assignments fairly. It was definitely the most disrespectful, dismissive, and unprofessional interview process I've ever been through. Candidates put a lot of time and effort into assignments, and the lack of communication, courtesy, and transparency was super disappointing. The initial chat seemed good and the role looked interesting, but the assignment was too much unpaid work with no feedback, I was ghosted for a long time, HR was rude, and there was no transparency. Overall, a bad experience. Management should respect candidates' time and effort, give feedback and communicate clearly for assignments, and train HR/recruiting to be professional.

The interview was about teaching possibilities and how courses align with an asynchronous Masters program. These students are diverse and have different expectations than on-campus Masters students, so teaching strategies need to match those expectations.
