Systems Engineer
It was an on-campus interview, and for me, there was just one round. Some other candidates had to go through two rounds, followed by an HR round. A tip for campus interviews: never mention plans for higher studies. Answer questions confidently, and if you don't know something, don't hesitate to admit it. Avoid vague answers as they create a bad impression; it's better to say you don't know but would try to figure it out.

Systems Engineer
I had a one-hour phone interview that was entirely technical. It covered Logic Design topics like Gates, Number systems, Multiplexers, Decoders, and Flip flops. C programming was also discussed, specifically Pointers, Arrays, and Linked lists. There were also some basic questions about capacitors and inductors. Lastly, I was asked about the different types of scopes I've used.
- How can you implement an Inverter operation using only NAND gates?
Systems Engineer
The interview process involved a telephonic interview covering Digital Design, Analog Design, Software Coding, Computer Architecture, and Lab Equipment Usage. For Digital Design, questions were about logic gates and multiplexers. Analog Design questions focused on impedance and frequency effects on components. Software Coding involved writing C programs for data structures and algorithms, and discussing linked lists. Computer Architecture questions covered cache mechanisms and the volatile keyword. Finally, there were general questions about using lab equipment like logic analyzers and oscilloscopes.
- Regarding Digital Design, how do you construct an inverter using NAND gates?
- Can you define what a multiplexer is?
- What distinguishes a synchronous bus from an asynchronous bus?
