Phone screening: first, we talked about the overall business unit's technical areas, their goals and deliverables; second, about your background and potential fit, and any gaps. Then, in person, it was mainly technical interviews. Spent a good chunk of time with each interviewer. They asked about your background and resume, and explanations. Lots of technical questions, mostly scenario-based, with ample time to work through solutions. Everyone was super friendly the whole time, really trying to help you do your best.

Behavioral Technical

I applied to LSI for an entry-level ASIC Customer Design Engineer role. HR gave me a call to check my availability and asked some basic questions. He mentioned I'd be called in for a face-to-face since I'm local. But, a hiring manager called me for a 45-minute technical phone interview covering resume details and basic ASIC design. The next week, I went for an on-site interview with 15 other fresh candidates, totaling 16 people. The day started at 9 am with an hour-long company info session, which I found transparent. We then had 3 rounds of 45-minute face-to-face interviews before lunch. After a 1-hour lunch break, there were 3 more 45-minute interviews. These interviews mainly focused on behavioral aspects, although they did ask some basic technical questions. They planned to select a few candidates from our group for a second on-site round. I felt confident about my technical performance by the end of the day.

I missed their call, but when I called back, they set up an interview for me in just 2 hours. The company was quite professional and focused more on technical aspects than HR. They asked me questions about my experience.
