First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at LSI Solutions.
Product Design Engineer
Four days after applying, I got a call to schedule the first interview. We set it up for the next day, and I got a confirmation email. The day after that, I had a phone chat with senior management where we talked about my resume and the company. Two business days later, I got an invite for an in-person interview, complete with a hotel room and travel expense coverage. About a week after the in-person, I heard back about their decision. The whole process was really well put together.
- Common STAR-based questions.
- One or two technical questions.
Regulatory Specialist
The interview process was long, which wasn't the main issue. The problem was the HR person consistently called on a Sunday evening to schedule interviews, which felt disrespectful of personal time. Despite this, I went through the entire process and received an offer. However, I declined for several reasons: the Sunday calls, the focus on an intense work ethic suggesting long hours with no work-life balance, the manager's concerning response about the CEO yelling at employees (implying it was sometimes deserved), and the salary offer being $15k below my current salary, despite asking for the top of the posted range from the start. They seemed to disregard my experience and waited until the end to reveal they wouldn't meet my salary expectations. Their claim of a hiring freeze after I refused the offer was also suspect, as more jobs were posted the next day. Overall, I don't trust this company due to their lack of transparency on pay, their demanding work ethic culture that seems to sacrifice mental health, and their evasiveness about future company performance. They also focused heavily on perks rather than the actual job duties.
- Can you tell me about your work ethic?
- What is your understanding of the Regulatory field?
- How do you typically manage disagreements or difficult situations?
Quality Engineer
So the whole process started off with a phone interview with one of the department managers. I was told repeatedly that I would not like the job, and the conversation felt very aggressive. Then when I got there for the onsite interview, the receptionist was completely unaware of my interview and it took about 15 minutes to get a visitor badge. After that, I had to wait another 15 minutes for the people doing the group interview to arrive so we could start. The group interview itself was pretty laid back. Afterwards, I interviewed with the department manager again and it was another aggressive interview.
- Tell me about a time you used the STAR method.
Quality Associate
The interview was good. The hiring manager asked general questions that were standard and straightforward. They seemed really interested in what value I could bring to the company and how my background fit with where the organization is headed. They also wanted to make sure I was interested in the job and the company for the right reasons.
- What kind of management style do you find most effective?
- How do you envision contributing value to our organization?
- In what ways do your qualifications align with our company's strategic objectives?
