Started with a recruiter chat, then I had to do a take-home assignment which took me 4 days to complete. After that, I had a panel interview with some teammates, and the very last step was meeting with the manager. The whole thing wrapped up in about two weeks.

I had an interview with HR first. Then I interviewed with the Hiring Manager. After that, there was a panel interview with some team members. They asked behavioral questions about general product management stuff, how I work with stakeholders, and building/managing roadmaps. The recruiter sent a helpful guide to get ready for the interviews.

So I applied, and they made me fill out more questions. It took like a month for them to get back to me and schedule an interview. I talked to some people at the company, and they seemed nice, but there were some red flags. For the designer role, they expected the designer to come up with the product requirements, which I think is the PM's job. I mean, designers can give input, but it's weird if they're expected to do all the work. It just seemed like we weren't a good fit. I didn't hear back after that, but I figured it was a done deal. Then, like two weeks later, they emailed me asking if I'd heard back. I said no. We had a call, and they told me they weren't moving forward with me. They gave me that whole 'apply for other jobs' thing, and I said sure. It was odd because instead of giving professional feedback, they basically read Slack messages. They said I applied for a job above my level and that I'm actually entry-level and shouldn't be looking at mid-level jobs. This is funny because another company offered me a senior role two weeks later.

Behavioral Technical Presentation

Man, this interview process was rough and took forever. It felt like such a waste of time because they really don't seem to care about how much time or experience you have. They don't lie about the steps on their site, but it drags on for months, asking the exact same things again and again. You barely get any time to actually learn about the company. It's totally one-sided, and they act like you shouldn't have any questions about their awesome company or culture. It's like they think interviewing at Loyal is the best thing ever for you. Says a lot about the culture and bosses. The assignments are just busy work. Don't waste your time trying to butter them up.
