First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Low Income Housing Institute.
Security Officer
The interview process was fast and straightforward. They clearly explained the job duties and their expectations. The interviewer was pleasant and supportive. The company seems skilled at selecting suitable candidates.
- What qualities do you possess that make you a suitable candidate for this role?
Case Manager
Had a one hour phone call for the initial interview. The interviewer seemed sporadic and unprepared, spending most of the time talking about themselves and not asking clear questions. They said to reach out after a certain period if I was still interested.
- What is your understanding of our company?
- Can you describe your boundaries when working with clients?
Coordinator
It was mechanical, awkward, and had no room for organic conversation. I came prepared with several talking points and questions, but the interviewers just asked me a long list of very specific, redundant questions from a list they had… It very much restricted the potential of the interview. I walked away not feeling like I was able to present myself authentically and like they did not get the gist of my skill set or who I was.
- Can you tell me about a time you resolved a conflict at work?
Janitor
It was a one-on-one interview in person with the Regional Manager. He looked over my application and resume, focusing on my skills and experience. He explained the job's logistics at the building and asked me how my skills and experience were applicable. After that, I had to wait for the background check results. About three weeks later, I was called back in to receive the job offer and complete the necessary paperwork for payroll and the union contract.
- Can you explain why you would be a good fit for this position?
- How do your skills and experience apply to this role?
