I applied for a Sales Associate position through Indeed and was contacted for a phone interview. About a week later, I had an in-person interview at the store. The manager was unprofessional and the interview lasted a very long 4 hours. Many of the questions were irrelevant to the job. I did not receive a job offer, and it felt like a waste of time.

When I got to the interview, they had me come into the stock room which was basically an office space. It was totally filled with extra toys. They asked me some basic questions but then they got into some specific ones like asking how I'd answer if a customer wanted to know my personal experience with a toy, how I'd approach selling to a man, how I'd talk about people's genitals, and if I'd be okay with selling things like c rings and p pumps.

Confirmed questions4 questions
  • How would you answer a customer asking about your personal experience with a toy? (Keep it professional, no personal anecdotes)
  • How would you sell to a man? (Same way I'd sell to a woman)
  • What terms would you use to refer to people's genitals? (Use proper terms like 'penis', 'erection', 'clitoris')

For this role, we really prefer folks who can fill out a paper application and are open to working weekends, as that's often when we're busiest. Strong sales skills are definitely a must, and you should know our products pretty well. Being able to chat easily and professionally about all things sexual health is key to helping our customers out. We'll chat with you to see how well you communicate and if you can close a sale.
