First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Lovepop.
Payroll Coordinator
After a screening call, I was invited for an onsite interview. I met with four different people throughout the day, which was quite lengthy. One of the initial employees who interviewed me was disengaged and spent the whole time on his phone. I sent thank you notes to everyone I met with, but then I heard nothing back, which was disappointing. As a recruiter myself now, I know how important it is to follow up with candidates who invested their time in coming onsite and participating in extended interviews.

3D Designer
I got this job through LinkedIn and heard back in 3 days. First, there was a quick call to go over the job. Then, I chatted with the Design team lead about my resume and portfolio. They gave me a design task that took about 5 hours. I submitted it, and got an offer on the third day. The whole hiring process was super fast and the team was really nice, making me feel welcome and in the loop. They were also cool about my school schedule and very flexible. Big thanks to Lovepop for the great start!
- Can you tell me about your preferred Rhino command?
Software Engineer
Got contacted by a recruiter, and the first step was a phone screen with them. Some of the behavioral questions felt a bit much, but the recruiter said they were really looking for culture fit and liked our chat, so they passed me along to the hiring manager. Then, I had a phone screen with the tech lead for a team where we talked about my background. After that, I got a take-home assignment, which they said should only take 1-2 hours. When I got feedback on my code, the tech lead mentioned a couple of issues. I didn't get an onsite interview, so I guess that's it. Honestly, I wouldn't even bother applying; take-home assignments are just a pain and don't really show if someone's a good software engineer, which is more about teamwork than coding perfectly solo.

- Create a module for variable extraction and substitution in an SVG file for a 3D Custom Card Design system's engine that parameterizes design files.
- Develop a system to manage order fulfillment based on specific prioritization logic.
3D Designer
applied online, got an email with an interview invite 3 weeks later. Had a 30-minute phone chat with a team member about my digital design experience and what the internship experience/work culture would be like and how I could fit within that. Was told if the conversation went well I'd be sent a design assignment that should take 2-3 hours and if that went well I would have a videochat or on-site visit to meet with the same member plus another employee within the wedding department, which is where the position would be under. After completing the design assignment I had to poke them a few times to get a final update that I wasn't advancing onwards
- Tell me about your favorite command in Rhino.
