We started with a quick 15 min screening call to go over your background. Then there was a 1 hr technical assessment with analytical exercises and strategy questions. After that, a 45 min in-depth interview focused on marketing strategy and a case study. We also had a 30 min behavioral interview to check for cultural fit and teamwork. Finally, a 1 hr interview with leadership and a Q&A.

Behavioral Technical

It was a pretty standard interview process for a smaller company. I showed up and waited in the lobby until the manager called me in. The manager was kind of condescending during the interview, often saying I might not be a good fit. I didn't feel very excited about the role or the company afterwards. But, about two hours later, I got a call from the receptionist for a second interview. She mentioned the manager was really impressed and excited. I'm not sure if the manager was playing hardball or if that's just how he comes across, but because of the cocky comments, I declined the second interview. It wasn't terrible, but it wasn't great either. I expect professionalism and to be treated with respect in my field, not talked down to.

Behavioral Presentation

So you want a job that matches your college degree? Forget about it, and forget about the title of the job you saw on Craigslist. For this company, all the entry-level jobs (what they call "level one" here) are the same. First, there's a phone call to set up the first interview. The 1st interview explains the company and checks if you're interested. The 2nd interview shows you what they do, where you'll meet two employees and go to a Walmart to sell DISH service to customers. Then the 3rd interview is basically "when can you start?" The interviews are easy as long as you don't act like an idiot, and you'll probably get hired. Ask a lot of questions though, because this isn't really a job for a college grad. You get commission plus a base pay of $300/week. The employees seem sketchy and unhappy.

I applied for an HR position and got a call for an interview for it. I made time and went to their office. The front office staff were really nice. The hiring manager called me in, she was nice too, and asked me standard interview opener questions about myself. Then she told me the job I applied for was filled a week ago and asked if I wanted to do sales. This was super frustrating because I took time off for the job I applied for. A phone call would have been enough.
