I had two interviewers, the manager and someone from devops, at their office in Winnipeg. They asked general questions about my education and past jobs, and also about my readiness and knowledge for the role. It felt pretty good, though they didn't seem to have read my resume closely beforehand.

You'll start by submitting your resume and cover letter online. Then, a recruiter or HR person will give you a quick call to chat about your experience and why you're interested. After that, if you're in an engineering or data role, you'll likely get a coding challenge, possibly involving Python, SQL, or system design. Finally, you'll have an interview with the hiring manager to dig deeper into your past work, how you tackle problems, and if you fit with Lotlinx's goals. They might ask about your ad tech, automotive marketing, or SaaS background.

The hiring process was pretty standard. I had a scheduled phone screen with HR. When they called, they seemed uninterested and just asked basic questions about my resume. It lasted about 10 minutes. Then, I was contacted for an on-site interview at their downtown Chicago office. Getting into the building was a hassle since they didn't add me to the guest list, which made the whole thing seem disorganized. However, the front desk sorted it out. I arrived 10-15 minutes early for my interview and was shown to a conference room. The first two interviewers were 5 minutes late. They seemed unprepared, reading my resume for the first time and asking questions as they went. After waiting alone for another 15 minutes, the Director of Marketing started the second part of the interview. She asked more specific questions and discussed the position further. She also requested writing samples post-interview. I ended up waiting for about 35 minutes in total and only spoke with people for about 30 minutes. After submitting the samples, they gave me a poorly explained writing exercise, which felt redundant. At that point, I wasn't interested in the role or company anymore.

The interview process starts with a quick 15-minute phone chat where they just want to know if you've used Excel and Google Analytics. If you have, you'll probably get an invite for the in-person interview. Then, for the in-person part, you'll have 30-minute slots with about 4-6 people, so expect it to be at least 2 hours long. They usually tell you who you'll meet beforehand, but honestly, the vibe there is pretty dismissive of interviews, so you'll likely see unfamiliar faces, making research pointless. In my case, two people didn't even show up.
