I applied in early Jan and got a response in Feb. It's possible different departments will reach out for interviews. My interview was just one round, lasting about 30 minutes. Most of my interviews were remote via Teams, but I did have one in-person interview.

I applied in November 2022, and LADWP departments started calling me back in mid-January 2023. The interviews varied by department: some were in person at LADWP in DTLA (30-40min), some via Webex (30min), and others were phone calls (10-15min). There wasn't much time to ask questions. I interviewed with 2-4 managers and senior engineers who asked 5-8 questions. Mostly behavioral/situational, but some departments included basic technical questions. One department showed me a circuit to calculate current. If you didn't hear back within 1-2 weeks after the interview, you were out, though some departments were kind enough to respond within a week. I'm not sure how many interns they hire; one group only took one.

It's an interview in front of a panel of 3 engineers from different fields. Usually, one is from the group you're applying to. They'll ask general technical questions about the job and some casual questions. It's really hard to tell how you did because of how the interview is set up.
