You'll meet with the department supervisors. The biggest things they're looking for are experience and if you meet the qualifications. You need experience in student services, a B or better in the subject you want to tutor, and to be a full-time student.

The process has three parts: first, you'll do a qualitative & quantitative exam that covers english and math. second, there's a recorded video interview where you get two chances to record your answers, up to 5 minutes each. third, you'll have an in-person or online interview with the team you might be joining.

The oral examination lasted 25 minutes and had 8 questions, giving the candidate about 3 minutes per question. Unlike other public institutions, questions weren't provided beforehand. Going over time meant losing points. After not being offered the role, I could schedule a phone call to review my results, which were based on a standard rubric. The notes were generic, and the reviewer couldn't link specific results to specific questions. They mentioned my responses were vague, which I felt was unavoidable given the time constraints and number of questions, especially when needing to provide examples. Reviewing the results made the process feel unfair and potentially biased against those outside the district. More specific feedback would have been helpful.

First was a Written Test with comprehension, statistical math, and customer service questions. Then, a computer test where we had to follow instructions using Word or Excel, making sure to include your name and heading info and meet all requirements. After that, a General Interview, not with the hiring committee, with basic questions about wanting the job and qualifications, though the interviewers seemed unrelated to the actual job. Lastly, an Interview with the actual team, hiring managers, and an equal opportunity representative.
