The interview process was quite slow. First, I had an interview with HR for usual questions about experience, relocation, and salary. The second interview was with talent acquisition, and they asked the exact same questions as HR, which felt like just a way to make me wait another week. The third interview was with the hiring manager and a team member, and this was the real one with technical questions about practical topics like how to handle projects, priorities, risks, and balancing priorities. Each interview was at least a week apart, so it felt quite long.

The recruiter was really hard to get in touch with. I tried setting up times for him to call me but he kept calling way before and then wasn't available when we actually agreed to talk. When we finally did talk, he asked me if I was qualified for the job. I've never had a recruiter ask me that before. I'm usually happy to share my experience but I figured if they reached out, I must have met the requirements.

I applied online and then had a 1-hour phone interview with the PM Director. After that, I went to the company site for a 3.5-hour interview where I met with 5 different people one-on-one. I got a call back after 2 weeks, and they told me they were still interviewing and to call back. I called again 2 weeks later, and they said they liked me and I interviewed well, but they decided to go with an internal candidate. Apparently, I was third in line behind two internal candidates.
