I was contacted by LIU-School of Business for an interview for the Secretary IV position. The interview went well, and the atmosphere was very pleasant. The first interview was a group interview, and although this was my first time in a group interview setting, I found it to be very comfortable and informative. The second interview was with the Dean of the Department and it as well was pleasant, the questions asked were your typical interview questions, and the dialogue between myself and the interviewers was great. I haven't heard from them regarding the position as of yet, I was told within in the next week, I really hope that I nailed it and receive an offer, it is the perfect position for me, and in a University setting, which is what I have been looking for for quite some time.

Applied through their website and got a phone screening to get to know me better. Then, I was directed to higher ups in the admissions department. Interviewed with two people directly in admissions. They asked the same question over and over. They're not looking for people who want students to thrive educationally, but sales-driven people who know how to trick people into coming to a school that doesn't care about them. One interviewer made it very difficult for no reason. I was ghosted, no follow-up on my interview.

They reached out on LinkedIn to people for marketing positions, saying their credentials were great and they wanted to meet. Most of the team was hired this way; nobody applied, someone just reached out. They made the jobs at the university sound too good to be true, and they were. They showed a perfect picture of the marketing role with great vacation time, benefits, and free education after two years, but didn't tell you the real details of the job. The interview process was a phone interview, two in-person meetings, and a video chat with the President of the university (that was a red flag). It wasn't too hard, but they weren't honest or upfront about the job. I wish I had checked Glassdoor before taking this offer.
