& Process

I first sent my resume and cover letter through Indeed. Then, I got an email to set up an in-person interview and a demo lesson. I went to the Chinatown location and had to fill out some forms in the lobby while waiting, even though my resume already had all that info. After that, I met with the Provost for the interview. We then went upstairs to a classroom for the demo lesson, which I did using PowerPoint slides. I basically walked the Provost through the slides, I didn't have to act anything out. Afterwards, I went back to the Provost's office and we reviewed the demo lesson. The Provost offered me the job on the spot, and we then did the new employee stuff like watching videos on workplace safety, academic integrity, and sexual harassment.

I had two interviews with LIBI for an Assistant Director of Admissions role, one with the President and one with the Owner. Although I stated my salary requirements early on, the offer was $15,000 less than I asked for, and they indicated there was no room for negotiation. They said they'd consider a higher starting salary if my references checked out, so I sent them within minutes. It's been three weeks, and they haven't contacted my references. I emailed the hiring manager and the president over a week ago for an update, but neither responded. It's unprofessional to ignore a candidate who invested time interviewing, especially when they didn't even check references.

It was a pretty standard process. First, I met with the director, and they asked me to do a demo. Then I had to submit an application along with all my transcripts. They need to be able to verify your credentials before they can hire you.

The interview process had two rounds, plus a demo lesson for the provost. It started with an initial screening interview, followed by an interview with the Department Chair. It was a pretty standard process with typical questions, and then a 15-minute demo lesson for the subject area you applied for.
