& Process

It was a pre-recorded interview. They had very standard questions about my previous experience and interest in the school district. They also asked situational questions about what I would leave the teacher in a sub note and what I would do if there were no sub plans left. It was very easy. The sub coordinator was very helpful answering all my questions.

The hiring process took a really long time. I applied three times before getting hired and didn't hear much back about what I needed to do to move forward. But then, during a big flu season sub shortage, they started calling me a lot and changed the requirements so I could get hired.

I applied online and submitted my Resume, cover letter, reference letter, and Cbest a week later. My previous supervisor mentioned they contacted her for a discussion. About a week after that, I received a call to schedule an interview, which took place in early February. My interviewer, a former principal at my old high school, and I discussed my program. Following the interview, she indicated she'd recommend me for hire and asked me to wait. After about 10 minutes, another woman informed me of the job offer and gave me a large packet of paperwork to complete and return. I also had to finish some other forms and get fingerprinted for the background check that same day. The entire process lasted about 1.5 to 2 hours. After this, you wait for them to contact you for further processing. I started working about a month later (early March) because I needed to obtain an emergency 30-day permit, which took a couple of weeks, and then I had to wait for my Employee ID and login details via email.
