They were super nice and asked stuff that mattered for the job. They asked about why I wanted to work there and if I'd worked with their usual clients before. They also got back to me super fast.

I was contacted right away and interviewed with the managing attorney within days. It went well, but they couldn't offer the job. Next, I interviewed with the "hiring committee" downtown within the week. That also went great, and I was told I should expect an offer. Two weeks passed with no word. When I followed up, I was told they were interviewing other applicants and not moving forward with mine. I was shocked, especially with my 30+ years of experience where I'd be a great asset to legal aid.

Got the call back pretty quick, like 1-2 weeks after applying. Had 3 interviews lined up: first with a manager, then an attorney, and finally a joint one with HR. They were mostly asking about my past experience and how I'd handle different client scenarios. They also talked about the firm, how the work gets distributed across different branches.
