First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at LogicMonitor.
Account Executive
I started with a phone screening with HR, then a critical thinking assessment, then a behavioral assessment, followed by a phone screening with the hiring manager, then a director, then a VP followed by a 3 hour onsite interview with 4 people. Of the 8 people I met during my interview process, 7 of them were men. The only woman I spoke with was the hiring coordinator. During the onsite, I was also asked to stand up and white board something very elementary, which was uncomfortable as a young woman in a dress for a room full of men. Something I'm sure was accidental, but should be taken into consideration in future hiring motions. At the end of what had already been a 7-week process, I was told they would get back to me after another 2 weeks. I declined to wait and told them I wasn't interested. At that time I was already well down the path with 2 well known companies in tech, known for their difficult interview processes, and accepted one of their offers. I'm confident that I was qualified for the role and find it surprising that after after 2 assessments and at least 6 hours of interviews, they would need another 2 weeks to evaluate. When I went to look for other women in tech sales roles or leadership roles there on LinkedIn I found maybe 2 at that time globally. I'm hopeful that they've acknowledged their opportunity for increased diversity since then, especially in their sales organization, but in 2020, that was an incredibly disappointing experience.
- Can you prepare a customer sales scenario for us to role play?
Account Executive
I was contacted by a recruiter and we set up an initial phone chat. After that, I completed an online sales assessment and an IQ test. Then I had a video interview on Zoom with a sales manager. I then had to retake the IQ test with video monitoring. Finally, I went onsite for three 30-minute interviews and did a mock presentation about Logic Monitor to a group of 4 people. They said I could present anything I wanted, but I chose to do it on Logic Monitor.
- Could you outline your 90-day business plan?
- Regarding the Logic Monitor software, what was its licensing structure?
Account Executive
The interview process had 3 rounds before covid. First was a phone screen with the hiring manager. Then I had conversations with other team members, which felt like comfortable chats, but they each had some info they needed to report back. Lastly, there was a final sales presentation to a live audience. It was pretty straightforward, you just had to present a solution you'd sold before. Everyone played a role, and I just had to show my sales skills.
- Describe a challenging situation and your plan to overcome it.
