SEO Strategy Lead
This was the worst interview process ever. I first had a screening, then met with the VP, and then the head of SEO. I was given an assignment which I presented. My references were then contacted. No job offer was extended. I can accept rejection, but contacting my references without a job offer is such an inconvenience. This agency should be embarrassed about how they hire people, stringing candidates along and then pulling the rug out from under them. References aren't always available. Seriously, if anyone at LMG is reading this, you handled this very, very poorly.
- Have you ever worked with healthcare companies?
SEO Content Strategist
The interview process had three rounds, all done over Google Meet. Things moved fast until my second interview when we had some tech issues. I wasn't sure how that went, but HR contacted me less than 30 minutes later to move up my final interview to the next day. It seemed to go really well, so I was surprised when I didn't hear back for almost a week. Since it was a long weekend, I didn't worry too much. However, today I got a super generic email, like it was sent to everyone, saying they weren't hiring for the position anymore. I'm not sharing this to be mean - the people I talked to were nice. But it's a red flag when a company is in a rush to fill a job and then decides they don't need it. It was also a bummer to get a impersonal email after I put in time prepping, interviewing, and getting to know them. They didn't owe me anything, and I know things happen in agencies. I'm just sharing so others can check how serious a company is about hiring for a role and hopefully save others from feeling like their time was wasted.
- Describe your general experience.
- Can you demonstrate your understanding of the industry and the skills required for this position?
- How do you handle interactions with clients and colleagues?
Marketing Apprentice
I got an email about a 30-minute phone screening to talk about my background and the job's main skills. It was cool to talk to the CEO, showing they really want the right person. It was pretty casual, mostly personal questions and what I knew about LMG and internet marketing from my research. After the call, they set up an in-person interview at a coffee shop. We met for about 45 minutes, and it was a relaxed intro to the company. They went into detail about the company's current situation and future growth plans. They also asked about my previous work experience and how it could apply here. Basically, just be ready to talk about your past work and know the industry a bit.
- Can you explain why this company appeals to you as a place to work?
- What did your research reveal about LMG and the field of internet marketing?
- Could you discuss your background and the key requirements for this role?
Digital Marketing Account Manager
The interview process started with a 30-minute initial screening video call that included informal and technical questions, along with a discussion about the job role and an opportunity to ask questions. If selected to move forward, the next step was a 60-minute technical interview, followed by two more culture-focused interviews. Unfortunately, my experience didn't progress to the technical interview due to last-minute reschedules on two occasions. During the second reschedule, I was left waiting in a virtual meeting room for almost an hour after emailing, and they had to reschedule again without a valid reason. Although our conversations were positive and productive, they misrepresented the next interview as a 60-minute technical one when it wasn't. The process also suffered from a booking error, a lack of clarity regarding who I would be speaking with, and a general disregard for my time, making the experience unprofessional and unenjoyable. Ultimately, I received a generic automated rejection email with no specific feedback. While I appreciated their acknowledgement of my feedback, I won't be applying again.
- Can you describe the key performance indicators you monitor for each phase of the marketing funnel?
