& Process

Recruiter was my main contact and didn't share many specifics. On interview day, I arrived a bit early but had trouble finding the entrance, making me only 5 minutes early instead of 15. The recruiter greeted me and mentioned the CEO and Sales VP would be interviewing me. After a short wait, they arrived a few minutes late. The interview was pretty standard, but they really stressed their company culture. A big part of it was impressing upon me that they are a faith-based business. While I think they were careful to be legal, it felt like they were screening for people who share a certain faith-based approach to life. I value religion, but I don't necessarily want it in my career, and I feel they can be separate. It seemed like LoadUp's interview process was designed to filter out people not of a specific belief type without breaking anti-discrimination laws, which might be for the best.

I interviewed with LoadUp in April 2023. Started with about a 20 minute call with a team member to go over the company and the role in more detail. Then, they sent a code challenge, which they said should take no more than 1-2 days. I was told I could email with questions. The requirements were not clear, so I emailed the person I spoke with, but didn't hear back for over a week and they couldn't answer questions anyway. After I followed up, I was told to email the tech team. I emailed them and didn't get a response. I followed up again later that week and the next week before getting a response. The whole first step took almost a month. After I submitted the code challenge, I heard nothing. I followed up a couple days later to confirm they got it. Still nothing. About two weeks after submitting it, I got an automated rejection email. No other response or feedback on my submission. This was the worst interview experience I've had recently. They need to improve their communication and respect for people's time.

I was contacted by the HR rep after applying for an interview. I gave her a bunch of times, and she never responded. I emailed her again, then she agreed to a time. The interview came around, and she never called. I sent her an email asking if she was still interested in an interview, to which she never responded. It was an insanely unprofessional process - it takes a special kind of rude to not show up to an interview and then not respond to an email afterwards.

The interview process had two rounds. First, I spoke with a recruiter, and if that went well, I moved to the next stage. The recruiter call was good and informative about the company. Then, I had a second round with two managers. Although I felt I did well, I didn't advance further. Perhaps it wasn't the right fit, but I trust there are other opportunities.
