Candidate interview experiences
First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Loadsmart.
Senior Frontend Engineer
The interview process was quite streamlined. I was told that the Senior process skips the technical test. After a quick chat with the recruiter, the second stage was a very relaxed live coding session (in English) with two other company developers. The next stage involved an interview with an Engineering Manager and a Tech Lead about behavioral aspects. After that, I had the chat with the recruiter and received the offer.
- Como você lida com código legado e como faria um grande refactor em um sistema mais antigo?
Frontend Engineer
It began with a quick chat with a recruiter, and I got feedback the same day. Then there was a take-home coding challenge which was pretty reasonable for the time given. After that, I had a 1.5-hour session with two engineers who went over my technical assessment, asking about my code and deeper technical aspects of the role. The TA team got back to me quickly with good news, and we set up another interview with two engineers from the hiring team. We discussed past work experiences, hypothetical situations, and how I'd fit into the company culture. Unfortunately, I received a rejection a few days later, as they decided to go with someone more experienced. Even though it was a 'no', I really liked the process. It felt like talking to colleagues throughout the day, and even though it was all via Skype/Hangouts, it felt very personal. Everyone at Loadsmart was super enthusiastic about the company, and it sounds like a great place to work.
- Tell me about different ways to manage state in React.
- How do you organize your code?
- How would you go about planning and implementing performance enhancements?
Front End Engineer
I applied through an open job posting on the company's careers page. After that, I was contacted by the HR person, had a call to align expectations, and a brief test in English. Following that, I did a technical challenge that took about a week to complete, and after that, I received an automatic email saying they weren't continuing with the process. There was no technical feedback or anything like that.
