Candidate interview experiences
First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at LKQ.
Inside Sales Representative
It was fine to start and then the interviews kicked off. The interviewers seem untrained, asking odd questions that weren't relevant to sales or the industry. Some questions were about personal life, which isn't legal. The interview felt awkward because the interviewer seemed unable to connect and lacked experience in hiring and developing people.
No confirmed questions were included in this interview report.
Salesman
I met with the location manager and the assistant manager. They asked basic questions about my experience, specifically if I had worked in a body shop or had sales experience. Even though I didn't have either, they mentioned I could learn the salesman role and advance. The interview itself was fine, but when I came in on my first day for paperwork, the job had changed to Inside Sales Coordinator and Paint Technician, which was not what I applied for. I took the job but left later due to a lack of growth opportunities.

Inside Sales Representative
I went through 4 interviews, and they were all pretty nice. They were really upfront about what they expected and the downsides, and I got all my questions answered. They didn't shy away from tough questions and were open about the challenges the job might bring.
