Project Manager
It was a pretty simple process. After I applied, HR gave me a call within a few days. Then, I had about 3 to 4 interviews with some of the PM managers. They asked about my past experience, my technical skills, and some hypothetical situations. Nothing tricky, just looking for examples of how I proactively improved processes in the past. Everyone on the team was really nice and friendly. I also appreciated that the HR person kept in touch during the whole thing.
- Could you describe your approach to planning, kicking off, and finishing a project?
- What's your strategy for dealing with challenging clients?
- How do you get up to speed on new technologies you haven't used before?
Technical Writer
The hiring process for this role took about 1 to 2 months and included a technical phone interview and an assignment. The interview itself was pretty standard. The assignment, however, had a 3-hour time limit which felt too short. It involved testing English grammar, writing an admin guide, and an agent guide based on a 3-minute video. I also had to provide feedback on a sample manual that had several technical issues, but I couldn't identify all of them due to the time constraint. I did the best I could within the given time. Unfortunately, a week later, I was informed that my performance didn't meet their expectations.
- Can you introduce yourself and identify the tense used in the user guide?
- Given your background in Maths with PGDCA, what led you to pursue Technical Writing?
- What are your key motivators when it comes to work?
Customer Support Representative
I applied to livevox and after a few days got an email asking about my availability for a phone call. The person I spoke with asked some questions about my past work experience, and then set up a time for me to come in for an in-person interview. The in-person part involved a conference call with someone in Florida, and then I spoke with some managers at the San Francisco office. Towards the end of the interview, I was told I'd hear back in a week. A week went by with no contact. After another week, I emailed the first person who contacted me. He apologized and said it might take 1-2 months because a new training class had just started and they'd let me know when the next one began. He also said I'd be informed via email or phone call about an offer. They never contacted me again. I wouldn't mind not getting the job, but it would be polite to keep your word. If that's how they do business, maybe it's a good thing I wasn't contacted.
- Can you describe your previous employment history?
Project Coordinator
The interview process involved 4 rounds with the project coordination manager, the manager of project management, and the manager of account management. It wasn't a super tough interview process. Just make sure you're ready to talk about your past work experience and your college background. It would be a plus if you know a bit about call contact center solutions or VoIP solutions.
- Do you have any background in account management?
