First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Little City Foundation.
Child Welfare Specialist
There were two interviews. It was a really comfortable interview process, and the staff was upfront about what to expect. Each interview had someone who works in the field, which was great for asking questions about the actual work.
- How do you handle your time management?
- Are you in possession of a car that is insured?
Therapist
I had two interviews, maybe 10 days apart. The first was with the direct manager, second with a couple of team members. I received a job offer from HR the day after the second interview. Everyone was very friendly and flexible about working within my current job schedule to make the interviews happen.
- Can you describe your experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities?
Manager
Applied through a 3rd party website. Got a call from the hiring manager about a month later. Had two phone interviews with the hiring manager and then a web video conference with 4 members of the management team. After the web conference I was asked to provide references which I did. My references were contacted within the next two weeks and then I waited. The hiring manager sent e-mails weekly saying he would call me the next week (this went on for a month). Finally he sent an email saying they would not be moving forward with me. The entire process took over 3 months. I felt that I was strung along and that this organization has zero respect for their job candidates.
- How would you handle using a friend of one of the board members to complete work for the organization?
DSP
It wasn't a long interview process. I first discussed my availability and preferred work locations. Then, I had to complete a basic skills assessment covering math, reading, and writing.
- Regarding your availability and preferred work locations, what can you tell me?
- Could you share your preferred work locations?
