Sales Representative
I interviewed with HR, an account manager, the hiring manager, a few other managers, and the VP. Some interviews were on-site and some were remote. The whole thing took at least a month, and that included talking about salary and getting the offer.
- Tell me about why you're a good match for this position.
- Describe your approach to managing and expanding the sales territory.
- Can you share your track record of achieving or surpassing sales targets?
E-Commerce Listing Associate
The recruiter reached out to me and set up an initial phone call to get some basic information. They told me the process would involve a manager interview, then a panel interview, and finally an interview with the VP. I made it to the second interview with a manager, but they didn't show up and we had to reschedule. I didn't end up making it to the third round of interviews with the panel. After my second interview, it had been a week with no response, so I had to reach out to the recruiter for an update. The manager interview was a little strange; it was a video call, but the manager kept their video off. Both the recruiter and the manager were professional and kept things relaxed. They asked standard interview questions.
- Can you tell me about your past work experiences?
- What unique skills or contributions can you offer?
- Have you worked with e-commerce platforms before?
Systems Administrator
I saw the job on LinkedIn and an LSI recruiter reached out pretty fast. First, I had a phone interview with the recruiter. Then, I talked for about 30 minutes each with three people from the team I'd be joining. After they all gave me a 'thumbs up,' they flew me to Dallas/Ft. Worth for an in-person interview. The invite said to wear a suit and tie and bring a resume, arriving about 10 minutes early. The flight was same-day, so I had to get up super early from California. They paid for a taxi from DFW to their office in Ft. Worth and said they'd take me back. When I got there, the hiring manager saw me in my suit and asked why I was dressed up, saying HR told me to. He then told me to ditch the tie and jacket in his office, which had only his desk and a stool. I sat on the stool, and after a brief chat, he took me to lunch with the team. Lunch was casual, and they gave me advice about living in the area. Back at the office, we went into the hiring manager's office again. He was very direct, telling me his concerns about hiring me, which I thought he could have done over the phone. Then he said I didn't get the job and thanked me for coming, after only being there about 1.5 hours. As I was leaving, he tried to ask a trivia question, but I said no. They also said no one could take me back to DFW, so I had to get a taxi myself. I flew home, and got an email later saying I didn't get the job. I got reimbursed for the taxi fares about two months later. It's still baffling why they spent so much on travel just for lunch and to say no.
- They tried to ask the "3 light bulbs" question, similar to one Microsoft might ask.
Communications Specialist
I was initially contacted via LinkedIn for this Communications role. The process involved an initial chat with the recruiter, followed by a more in-depth interview with the owner and director. The first interview was quite relaxed, and the interviewer even offered some helpful advice for the subsequent one, which was greatly appreciated. This stage focused on my previous work history. The second interview was more challenging as the interviewer sought very specific details and concrete examples for everything discussed. While the questions were standard, the interviewer probed deeply into the specifics of how I accomplished each objective and task.
- Could you elaborate with detailed examples on every single task you performed in your previous role?
