First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Lions Clubs International.
Marketing & Communications Specialist
The interview process kicked off with a chat with HR over the phone. After that, I had a virtual meeting with the hiring manager. The final stage involved a few in-person interviews with a group of people, the director, and the hiring manager again. They also gave me a skills test to complete. It took about two months from start to finish to get the final decision.
- How would you feel about sharing your skills with a coworker?
BI Developer
I had a phone call with a recruiter and then a teams video interview about a week later with the hiring manager. Then a week later I had an in person interview with the hiring manager and another senior developer. Overall it was a good experience and the recruiter got back to me in a timely manner.
- Can you explain the difference between 'delete' and 'truncate'?
- Could you list and describe various functions?
- What are some examples of window functions you have used?
Specialist
This was a total waste of time. I had two interviews, spaced two weeks apart. I met all the job requirements, plus I have language skills. The interviewers were nice, but over a week after the second interview, I got an email saying management couldn't decide and the role was on hold. It felt like they weren't really looking to hire anyone. I got a final rejection email today, three weeks after my second interview (five weeks after the first). They didn't say if they hired someone else. If management can't make a hiring decision, I don't want to work for them.
- Do you have experience with public speaking?

I applied for this job and the recruiter reached out the very next day to set up an interview. I replied the same day but it took them 4 days to respond and over a week to actually schedule the interview. They didn't even confirm the interview until an hour before it was supposed to start. I tried to be understanding because it was the holiday season, but their communication and time management were just awful. The first interview was pretty standard, but the pay was really low ($52k - $62k) for a role that requires 3 days a week in the office and 15% travel. The main reason I decided not to continue was their answer when I asked about the many bad reviews concerning workplace culture and management. When I inquired about what they were doing to fix these internal issues, they didn't have much to offer besides saying they were 'providing training' and that the reviews didn't accurately reflect their work environment. Ultimately, I passed on the opportunity due to all these combined issues.
- Would you be comfortable working in the office three days a week?
