First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Linktree.
Software Engineer
So the interview started with a recruiter chat to talk about my background, skills, and what I'm looking for, and what they expect. Then there was a timed test on CodeSignal for coding skills, covering algorithms and problem-solving. After that, I had a pair programming session with an engineer. It wasn't like typical LeetCode stuff, we worked on a real-world problem together, and I had to show how I solve problems and communicate. I didn't get further, but it was a good look into what they test at each step.

Software Engineer
I had an initial call with the recruiter, but unfortunately didn't move forward after that. The recruiter was nice and kept me updated. It was a bit unclear which specific role they were considering me for, as there were multiple openings. My sense is that the role the recruiter was thinking of for me wasn't the best fit compared to my strengths for some of the other positions.
- Can you tell me what you know about Linktree?
Software Engineer
Got a call from the recruiter who laid out the process: 1) Behavioral + API, 2) Deep dive into background and domain, 3) Finally technical (algo + system design). But the actual interviews were different. The first one was behavioral + API with data modeling, a bit more than what was mentioned, but I managed to clear it. The second one was completely different. The interviewer didn't ask anything about my background and went straight into system design. It caught me off guard. I was close to solving most of it, just missed a part about scaling the service globally.
