Account Manager
So the interview process was pretty organized and moved along fast. First, I had a chat with a recruiter, then a phone call with the hiring manager. After that, I met with a group of team members for a panel interview where we went over some sales scenarios and talked about LinkedIn's products. The last part was a role play thing to see how I handle sales interactions and communication. They kept me in the loop and got back to me with feedback pretty quickly. Felt like a solid and fair process.
- Can you share an instance where you had to persuade a hesitant client? What approach did you take?
Account Manager
It was a standard phone process with an overview of my background and why I was looking in the first place. The recruiter was very friendly and we had a great conversation. What was strange was that he moved me to the next level and asked me to call back. When I did, he told me that the job had already been filled by another recruiter and he didn't know about it. I wasn't quite sure how that could happen and I asked if there were other roles. He said he would connect me with another recruiter and I never heard from anyone again. I called him and from the voicemail it looked like he was let go. Then I got a rejection email from a job I never interviewed for.
- Can you tell me about your background, walk me through your resume, and what do you know about the company?
- He was curious how my background would match the job description and what I could bring to the table.
Account Manager
I found the job on Linkedin and a recruiter emailed me a week later for a phone interview. The recruiter was 30 mins late, which was a bad start. They asked me basic screening questions and we talked about my experience. The call lasted about an hour. The next business day, the recruiter emailed to set up a phone interview with the hiring manager. I gave my availability but didn't hear back or get a confirmation. I emailed again to get more info but still no response. It was really rude that the recruiter didn't update me on my status, even just to say I didn't get the job.
- Can you walk me through your professional background?
