Customer Service Representative
A recruiter reached out on LinkedIn for a startup role near me. They were professional, easy to talk to, responded quickly, and gave good info about the company. They asked me to describe myself and checked if the offer was a good fit. They also answered my questions professionally.
- Can you tell me more about yourself?

The whole process was a mess, honestly. It took way too long for a minimum wage job. First, I had a phone call with a recruiter who was really nice. Then, about a week later, I had a video call with a manager. This guy was super rude and condescending the whole time, like he was annoyed I was even there. He mostly asked the same stuff the recruiter did. After another week, I went onsite to talk to two recruiters. One was the same nice lady from the first call, but the other one was really full of himself. They asked more of the same questions, plus a few new ones. Then, another week later, I had a quick five-minute onsite with the CEO. The craziest part is after all that, for an entry-level role, they wanted MULTIPLE professional references and actually called them. They also seemed really disorganized, like one person would say a decision would be made soon, then someone else would email asking me to come in for another onsite.
- What is your motivation for pursuing a career in recruiting?
- Can you tell me what you know about our company?
- What, in your opinion, distinguishes our company?

The interview process was really long, and in the end, I didn't get the job because the postings kept showing up again on LinkedIn and Indeed. It started with a video interview with a consultant to the CEO. Then, there was an on-site interview with two recruiters. The final interview was with the CEO, who was late and only talked to me for about 15 minutes before saying I could leave. What was frustrating was that the CEO seemed to know nothing about me, which is odd if you're going to make someone go through a whole month of interviews; you'd think they'd at least keep everyone updated on whether to move forward.
- What makes you want to get into recruiting?
- Could you tell me a little about yourself?
