Software Engineer
The interview process had 5 stages. First, they did a CV screening. Then, there was a Codility Test with 5 questions that took 3 hours. After that, a 2-hour video interview with 2 engineers. This was followed by a final interview with 2 managers that lasted 1.5 hours. Finally, there was a 30-minute HR interview. The coding tests were leetcode medium, and they asked questions about the coding test in the interview. The technical interview wasn’t difficult, but it felt like Japanese language skills are required to work in this company throughout the entire process. The final interview wasn’t too hard, and it included some technical and behavioral questions. In the HR interview, I couldn’t understand many questions because the interviewer couldn’t speak English properly. They rejected my application without any feedback, even after I politely asked. I’m glad I wasn’t selected because I can imagine how hard it would be to work there without Japanese language skills, even with good technical skills.
- Can you describe how you would troubleshoot a system with performance issues based on a given scenario?
- Tell me about a time your Unit Tests failed.

after applying from their website, I was selected for the coding test. In that coding test there were 2 code review problems and 3 leetcode medium difficulty level problems. I solved 2 programing problem and submit code review. Then I was selected for viva. That interview focused on core iOS development questions like thread, block, delegate etc. There were also some searching and sorting algorithm related questions. After the interview I have got a rejection letter.
- Can you explain Merge sort?
- Can you explain quick sort?
- Can you explain Thread(NSThread, Dispatch Queue)?
Senior Software Engineer
Applied LINE plus Korea online, the process took 2 months and I declined the offer since they increased my salary very little. But the interviews were not too hard. The steps were: background screening, an online algorithmic coding test, an onsite interview (whiteboard), a tech interview with the team, reference check, and then an offer.
- Online: 3 algorithmic questions
- Onsite: System design (design chat system, scaling brainstorming)
- Tech interview with team: REST architecture & security (hashing, private/public key, etc...) related questions.
