Candidate interview experiences
First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Linde.
Sales
The interview process was quite lengthy, with significant gaps between interviews. While I found the case study engaging, it ultimately wasn't a suitable fit for the role, a realization that came only after completing four interviews with the same hiring manager.
- What is the most commonly asked question in every interview?
Sales
The interview process was super fast: first an HR call, then a manager interview, followed by an exam, and finally 2 assessments. It focused a lot on business topics, not engineering. They didn't give any study guides beforehand.
- What are your strengths in negotiation?
Field Sales Representative
I applied for an internal vacancy through the company's internal application system, moving from a non-sales role. I received an interview date via email. The interview was held at the Manchester call centre in a small office with the recruiting manager and a senior sales manager. There was no HR present, which is usual as they don't handle this function at BOC. The process felt a bit drawn out because neither manager seemed entirely sure what they wanted for the position, and there were only two applicants. It was a regional field role, and none of the management's 'preferred applicants' wanted the job.
- Can you sell me this pen?
- What's your plan to meet your sales targets within the first three months?
- Tell me about your past experience generating sales in previous roles.
