I interviewed with Linde Engineering North America in Houston. First, I had a phone interview with the hiring manager. Then, I was invited for an in-person interview at their main office. This was a panel interview with the hiring manager, a senior process engineer, and another manager. After that, I had to take a computer-based personality test, which I didn't love but it was required. The HR rep finished things off by briefly going over the benefits. She assured me I'd hear back about the job offer, either way. It's been over five weeks and I still haven't heard anything, so I guess I didn't get the job. It's a real lack of courtesy not to give a candidate a response, especially after taking time off work for the interview. I feel candidates deserve closure. Linde not responding is why I rate this experience negatively.

There were four rounds in the interview process. The first was an aptitude round focusing solely on technical questions, excluding logical, analytical, or verbal reasoning. This was followed by a group discussion, which was quite crucial as 80% of candidates were eliminated at this stage. Next, a technical interview was conducted where a strong conceptual understanding was necessary to pass. Finally, there was an HR interview, which was described as requiring luck to clear; in some cases, candidates might be put on a waiting list instead of being selected or rejected.

The interview was great! Although it was a formal interview, the interviewers were friendly and professional. The interview started off with questions about the educational background, and how the applicant relates and applies the technical knowledge learned in the past to the current working field.
