It was a pretty standard interview process. First, there was an in-person interview with a hiring committee of 4 people. If I was a top candidate, the next step would have been a second interview with Human Resources. It seemed like a very clear-cut and standard procedure.

The first interview was in a small, cramped back corner office at the school. After getting a visitor's badge, I was directed to the right place. The supervisor asked about my education and experience, and then gave a very brief, general overview of the position that wasn't specific. I left feeling a bit unsure because it was so basic. After the selection was made, the final interview included a background check and an introduction to the school system. The school district office called to let me know I was accepted.

It started with a quick phone call where they asked if I could do the job's tasks. Then there was an in-person meeting. The in-person interview focused more on personality and what I'd do in certain situations. They're looking for people who aren't too picky or demanding, like needing lots of special treatment or always wanting time off. If you seem like that, you probably won't get the job because there are plenty of hard workers they can choose from.

  • Do you require constant positive reinforcement?
