Candidate interview experiences
First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Lincoln International.
Investment Banking Analyst
The interview was pretty chill. It was with 1 analyst and 1 VP. They asked a lot of personal questions first, then went into basic technical questions. I thought the interview went really well, but I never got a second round, so who knows.
- Tell me about yourself
- Can you answer some accounting questions?
- What are your thoughts on valuation?
Investment Banking Associate
The interview process involved meeting with MDs and other senior staff. There was no modeling test. They mostly asked about my background and deal track records, including my key roles in past transactions. We also discussed current deal flow and what my role would be at the office.
- What is your motivation for applying to this position?
- Could you elaborate on your key contributions to a deal that has closed?
- Can you detail your proficiency in financial modeling?
Investment Banking Analyst
Applied through my business school recruiting website and was contacted within a week about a first round interview. The interview was on campus and after that I was invited to a superday at the Chicago office. The company communicated expectations very well and was incredibly helpful throughout the recruiting process, especially for an investment bank. The superday involved four interviews back-to-back with two to three interviewers each. Lincoln also took interviewees out for fine dining. I was very impressed by the company's professionalism and hospitality. Lincoln's name is going to be mainstream in the banking world in the near future.
- How would you build a DCF for your start-up?
- What's your reason for choosing Chicago?
