First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Limeade.
Software Engineer
Started with a recruiter call that was mostly behavioral, focusing on why I'm interested in Limeade. The recruiter mentioned how quickly the process moves, which it did, but the end felt a bit off. Next, a technical phone screen where the interviewer had connection issues, but was patient as I worked through the problem. Heard back the next day about an on-site interview. The on-site had three sessions, each with two interviewers. It was mostly technical, with a few behavioral questions from each pair. One of the technical questions was a bit strange – a specific recipe program problem where the interviewer seemed to want only one particular solution. I eventually figured it out, drew a data-flow diagram, and coded it quickly. Later, I learned from a senior developer friend that the data structure I used wasn't the most common choice for that problem. Got a standard rejection email three days later, which was disappointing given how communicative they were initially. They had promised specific feedback if rejected, but that didn't happen. The company seemed good overall, but the process had some unusual aspects.
- Can you implement an undo system?
- How would you determine the number of conference rooms needed based on a list of time slots?
Software Engineer
So first, I chatted with HR on the phone, they were really nice and told me a lot about the company, asking if I'd done my homework and if I'd be a good fit. Then, I had a technical phone screen with a coderpad coding challenge. That guy was cool too and explained things well. After that, I went onsite for about 4 hours. I met my potential teammates, the sales director, and the backend and frontend architects. We talked about my skills and experience, and I had to solve three problems on a whiteboard. They said no a few days later, maybe because I don't have much SaaS experience and mostly used C++/C#. Everyone was really friendly though. The whole process was pretty fast and smooth.
- Could you describe how you would build an undo functionality?
Software Engineer
I had a brief introductory call with a recruiter where they asked about my background and what I'm good at. After that, I had another phone interview with two of the team's developers, since I was interviewing from out of state. They asked me some typical JavaScript questions and also about how I approach problems as a developer. Everyone I spoke with was really nice, friendly, and professional. It was disappointing to find out they hired someone else.
- Can you explain what a closure is in Javascript?
