Intern
I was naive and should've read more into this before coming into this absolute joke of a process. They were nice enough in the interview and clearly knew what to say to make it sound interesting. However, throughout the process they did not explain to me how in the heck this had anything to do with PR, marketing or advertising at all. Red flag number one. They described the pay structure to me, which was very weird and unlike anything I had seen before. Red Flag number two. The first interview was completed and they invited me back the next day for another one. The interviewer made me feel "special" and said "we don't do this often, but I want to offer you the position on the spot." I didn't know what to say, so I awkwardly agreed, only to reject the offer later because I had such an AWFUL, rotting feeling in my stomach about this company. Turns out I was RIGHT. Shame on you for not being more transparent, and for preying on people via LinkedIn. Disgusting. I am glad I did not work here.
- What gets you up and motivated in the morning?
Public Relations
The interview process was surprisingly quick, lasting about a week. I was initially hesitant due to negative reviews, but decided to experience it firsthand. Speaking with the hiring manager was a positive turning point. I learned how the role would affect clients and consumers, which was intriguing. I spoke with someone who detailed the company's mission and my potential impact. I appreciated their transparency and the thorough answers to my questions about marketing strategies and my role's potential. I'm sharing this now, after being with the company for nearly a month, because I'm very happy here, enjoying my colleagues and the company culture, and eager to grow my career.
- Could you describe your experience in marketing?
Customer Service Representative
I applied through ZipRecruiter and got a call pretty quickly. When I got to the interview, I had to fill out a short form and then waited about 10-15 minutes to be seen. The receptionist was nice and we chatted about the Food Network on TV. In the first round, Joe asked me about my previous jobs and how I handled my responsibilities. He also told me more about the company and the work environment at limelight. I was invited for a second round where I met with Mason, who then explained the job details and the pay. I accepted the offer.
- What are some qualities you possess that would benefit our team?
Manager Trainee
The first phone interview went well. The second interview, which was face-to-face, was very short, lasting less than 15 minutes. When I asked about benefits or salary, there was no response. The third interview was essentially a sales pitch where I was told I'd have to start at the bottom and work my way up. While I understand that, I'm not willing to switch from a salary to a commission-based pay structure. The application was also misleading.
- Tell me about yourself and your experience.
- What are your thoughts on working on commission?
- Can you explain your understanding of our sales process?
