First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at LifeStance Health.
Business Development Associate
First, there was a 15min preliminary interview with the recruiter to gauge your interest and background. Second, about a week later, I had a longer interview with a team member and the hiring manager to get a feel for the team, which is important since it's a nationwide, mostly remote team. The last interview was the most challenging, involving preparing several documents for a case study on how I would perform in the job and handle obstacles. While it required a lot of preparation, it was valuable because it closely mirrored the day-to-day tasks of the role.
- Can you describe your experience transitioning from working in person to a primarily remote role?
Practice Coordinator
I was emailed to set up a phone screening for a Patient Coordinator position, and it was scheduled for 6/30/25. On that date, I had the call, and the recruiter asked me a few questions before setting up the next interview for 7/3 at 9:00 am. She then sent an email for me to confirm, which I did, and she also included two Supervisors on it. On 7/3, I arrived for my interview at 8:45 am, but I was told that one of the supervisors copied on the email was on vacation. The front desk person didn't mention anything about the other supervisor, even though I mentioned both their names upon arrival. The front desk associate said she called her supervisor and left a message. I was really disappointed because instead of someone from the front desk letting me know the supervisor was out, someone else should have come to speak with me. Before, she told me any information clearly when she went to the back office someone told her what to say or do. A manager/supervisor should have come out to talk to me, or the recruiter should have known one of the supervisors was out. I still haven't gotten an email from either of the managers who were initially included in the email.
- What aspects of customer service do you dislike?
Psychiatrist
When interviewing for a psychiatry role at LifeStance Health, you can expect to discuss your clinical experience, how you approach treatments, your philosophy on patient care, and your ability to adapt to telehealth. They'll also be assessing how well you'd fit into a team that emphasizes collaboration and evidence-based mental health practices. Being professional and showing empathy are really important.
- What is the age range of patients you are comfortable working with?
Intake Manager
I applied for the Intake Manager role at LifeStance on Feb 4th and was supposed to hear back by the end of that day. I followed up with the recruiter on Feb 6th since I hadn't heard anything, but still no update was given. As of today, my application is still listed as "pending" in their system, and I haven't had any communication from them. Even just a quick update on whether I got the job or not would have been nice. This lack of follow-up doesn't really show well for their hiring process, and I hope LifeStance can do better with communication for future candidates.
- How would you handle an underperforming employee?
