First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Lifespace Communities.
Health Center Billing Specialist
I started with a phone screen with a recruiter, and they set up an interview with Nicki Anno and the Business Office Manager at Harbour's Edge. The interview was pretty straightforward. I followed up a couple of weeks after the interview, and Nicki told me she was moving my application forward, but then neither she nor Lifespace got back to me.

Program Manager
I went through a 3-stage interview process for a project manager role. It was more of a chat, and they really wanted to hear about my past projects. They asked some technical questions related to projects and also some 'what if' type questions to see how I'd make choices and solve problems. Overall, it was a good chat and showed off what I can actually do.
- Could you share your most memorable project experience and the reasons behind it?
- What is your favorite project experience and why?
Corporate Vice President
I was contacted by an executive search firm, Leapfrog-HR, regarding a corporate VP position at Lifespace Communities. The recruiter asked for my specific salary and bonus details but refused to disclose the role's target compensation range. I found this request to be problematic, as it's illegal in many states and generally unethical. I opted to share my target range instead and highlight my qualifications, but was consequently removed from consideration. I advise others, especially at the executive level, to consider similar actions when faced with such tactics and to look for organizations that don't employ these methods.

- Could you share the target compensation range for this position?
Financial Services Assistant
After I applied, they called me weeks later to set up an interview with the hiring manager. I ended up interviewing with the director of the department. During the interview, I got to see my potential workspace and met two colleagues I'd be working with. The director mentioned they needed someone quickly, but still had to interview internal candidates. One of my references mentioned they were contacted the same day I interviewed. About a week later, I called HR to check on the status and was told I was still being considered and a decision was expected the next week. I didn't hear back the following week until I received a rejection email on a Friday. The entire process took about 3 weeks.
