Candidate interview experiences
First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at LIFE Pittsburgh.
Van Driver
I submitted an application online. Then they called me in to talk with the hiring manager. After that, I had to go to Concenta for a physical and get approval to work. Once I passed that interview, there was a second interview with Transportation management.
- Have you worked with the elderly before?
Community Care Supervisor
The interview process was appropriate. The interviewing process is not what needs changed. The manager who is currently in place for the home care department hires individuals that are not reliable, knowledgeable and do not have a background of experience for the position. Many staff for this company are hired based on desperation.
- Why does Life Pittsburgh support the upper management team that are failing the home care department instead of replacing them with individuals who are qualified to be in these positions.
Registered Dietitian
It was a two-part interview. First, I met with HR to go over the job description and some basics. Then, I met with the Dietitian Manager to talk more about the job specifics and ask questions. They asked a lot of questions about doing nutrition assessments, working with others, managing a dining room, and dealing with seniors.
- If the cook can't make it, would you be able to cook?
- Are you able to do nutrition assessments?
- What's your experience working with a team?
