First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Libbey.
Account Manager
First, I had a call with HR. Then there was an in-person interview. After that, there was a background check, an aptitude test, and a drug test. It's pretty standard, but the whole thing can take a few months. I've heard of people having up to eight interview rounds, though that wasn't my case.
- Could you introduce yourself?
- What are your career aspirations?
- How would you describe your approach to work?
Intern
Got an email about two weeks after meeting the hiring manager at a job fair, then went in for an interview. The interview was great, one of the best ever. It took over 4 weeks to hear back though. I emailed HR every week for an update. When I finally heard back, they wanted me to interview for another internship. During those 4 weeks of following up, they asked about my desired hours per week and other questions like I was going to be offered the position. After 4 weeks, I didn't want to interview again and wait another 4 weeks just to be rejected. Thankfully, I had another offer and took it. I wish it worked out with Libbey because the company seemed really neat during the interview. I was just disappointed with how long the process took and the lack of clarity.
- Can you tell us about yourself?
Analyst
It started with a phone screen with HR, then a 2-hour meeting with some senior people at the main office. A lot of behavioral questions came up during the HR part. They asked about dealing with conflict 5 times in total. The interviewers were nice, but they did mention some team members they didn't like by name, which seemed unprofessional. They said they'd get back to me the next week, but then I didn't hear anything for 3 weeks.
- How do you handle workplace conflicts?
Process Engineer
The hiring manager coordinated the interview process. It involved 2 phone screens and then an onsite visit. The manager seemed very determined to find a candidate that would not only be a good fit for the role but that the company/team was a good fit for them. It was mainly a behavior based interview.
- Can you identify any bottlenecks in the current process and suggest improvements?
