Process Engineer
This was an old interview I had about a year ago, and it was a nice one. The HR person was professional and encouraging, even though I was clearly nervous during our conversation.
- Would you be okay with relocating if there was no relocation assistance provided?
Engineering Co-Op
It was a pretty standard interview process. I first had an interview with the HR recruiter, and then another with my future boss. The HR recruiter asked common behavioral questions, like how I handled a challenge or showed teamwork. My future boss asked to see my engineering report portfolio, which I shared. He also went into more detail about the company's chemical process.
- Could you share an instance where you had to apply time management skills?
- Describe a situation where you encountered a challenge and how you dealt with it.
- Provide an example of a time you exhibited teamwork.
Environmental Compliance Engineer
The process has three stages 1) screening phone call 2) meeting the manager 3) meeting other members of the team. They ask for salary expectations and will ask for many personality type questions. The interview does not focus on technical questions.
- Can you work in a fast-paced environment?
Director, Government Relations
I had two really in-depth and interesting interviews. They said they'd follow up for a third interview or a decision, but then ghosted me for weeks past their promised date. When I nudged them, they admitted they'd been deliberately ignoring my messages. It felt super awkward and put my other job offers at risk. The people responsible didn't even bother to apologize or act like they cared. I was pretty offended, but honestly, it gave me a good sense of the company culture, and I'm actually glad I didn't end up there.
- Walk me through your career path and how it fits this position.
- What are your strategies and methods in government relations?
- Could you share your philosophy on leadership?
