I had a quick phone screening and then an interview a few days later. It was a bit uncomfortable because of some comments made by associates like “she won’t get hired because she’s black”, which made me nervous during the interview and put me at a disadvantage. Three people were in the room; two were silent, just exchanging looks at what I said. One person asked very detailed questions from a paper.
