Construction Manager
I submitted my application via LinkedIn and was quickly contacted by a recruiter based at their corporate headquarters in Texas. The recruiter spent over half an hour discussing the role, its responsibilities, and my background. After that, I was given a personality assessment to finish within a couple of days. Once I sent it back, they set up an in-person interview at the community information center. This meeting included the Regional CM, the VP for the Carolinas, and the VP for the Raleigh area. The interview went for more than two hours and covered my experience, qualifications, the personality test results, and some highlights of LGI’s successful history.
- Can you describe a difficult situation you encountered in your professional life and explain how you resolved it?
Construction Manager
First, you had to take a personality test to see if you fit the job. Then, there was a 1:1 interview where they read words and you said if they described you. After that, they presented short scenarios based on your personality test results, and you had to agree or disagree. They also asked about your past job experience and duties, and why you'd be a good fit for LGI.
- Why did you want to work for LGI?
Construction Manager
I went to a job fair held by the company. Upper management was there, and they showed a video about sales associate earning potential. We all took a personality test. Then, interviews happened at small tables in a noisy, open room, making it hard to hear. The interviewer seemed uninterested in my construction knowledge.
- Did you like the video?
- What job were you looking for?
- What's your biggest career accomplishment to date?
