So first up was a coding interview, pretty standard I guess. They hit me with some DSA Leetcode easy stuff, and then some ML problems, mainly using numpy and pandas. A big chunk of it was a deep dive into the projects I've built. They also had me prep a slide deck to go over my previous projects.

the interview was very relaxed with both HR and the hiring manager. objective questions were asked about experience related to the job requirements. there were 2 interviews with HR and 1 with the manager. I was confident about being chosen due to synergy, experience, and compatibility. The manager confirmed I was the best candidate. Afterwards, they never responded. I saw the manager visited my LinkedIn profile and then nothing else. I had an unjust dismissal with a discrimination lawsuit for being a person with a disability, and I had reported everything there. I am sure the rejection was due to this reason.

first conversational approach with HR, in this first phase the role was better described and its placement within the company organization. the second interview took place on-site with a middle manager, here hard skills were verified with more technical questions and company culture was presented to see the soft skills fit

This interview was a HUGE disappointment, even though the recruiter who first reached out was super nice. I was really open about my resume, background, and experience, and she seemed to like what she saw and wanted to move me to the hiring manager. It took two more weeks for the hiring manager to get back to me and set up what was supposed to be the final round. There must have been a major disconnect because throughout the entire interview, the hiring manager kept saying I wasn't qualified enough. Even though I explained multiple times that my skills were transferable and I was willing to relocate if there was an offer, she was still really unhappy. It really felt like she hadn't even looked at my resume or background info, but then she got mad when I didn't meet her unstated expectations. YIKES!
