Senior Manager
I applied online. The first step was a recruiter screening, which was quick, positive, and friendly. Then, I had a second phone interview via video conference with HR and the hiring manager. It was really hard to understand the Korean manager because of their accent, so the HR person had to rephrase and repeat a lot of the questions. After that, I was invited for a face-to-face interview. They covered my airfare, but I had to pay for everything else upfront and wait for reimbursement through a third-party vendor, which was complicated. While I was onsite, I met with another HR person, one team member, and a second team member over the phone. Then I met the hiring manager and the local president. The interview questions themselves were pretty easy, mostly asking about my past experiences and how I'd prioritize tasks. The hiring manager became fixated on asking for exact timelines for tasks I'd do after being hired. I couldn't give a definitive answer, and they kept saying I hadn't answered until the HR person stepped in. The hiring manager then left abruptly for a supposed call, though their phone didn't ring. They said they wanted to meet again at 4pm but never showed up. During a phone call with a team member, the hiring manager came in and ended the call early to go meet the president, even though we still had 20 minutes to wait. We ended up just waiting in silence. I tried asking the hiring manager about their expectations, priorities, and goals, but they just looked at their phone. When I asked about 2-3 year goals and strategies, they snapped that 'only now is important.' Nobody from HR mentioned salary or relocation, so I had to ask. They had to go find the salary range and relocation benefits, which I found odd. Almost three weeks later, I got the job offer within the discussed range, with relocation assistance. I told the recruiter about my concerns and asked if someone who knew the hiring manager well could contact me. The same HR person and team member called me back but didn't offer much reassurance. The hiring manager is a Korean ex-pat who plans to return to Korea soon, and the role seems to be a revolving door. HR couldn't tell me about the number of women or diverse employees in senior roles, and the diversity groups didn't seem active. It feels like a male-dominated, Korean environment, and I assumed there'd be no advancement for a white woman. I liked the area and the company offered to pay for my health insurance premiums, but I couldn't see myself working for that specific hiring manager, so I declined the offer.

Manager
I applied online and heard back from HR about 10 days later via phone. We then set up a phone interview, and they emailed some follow-up questions. After the hiring manager reviewed my responses, I was invited for an in-person interview. During the in-person, I met with HR for about 10 minutes of questions, then the hiring manager joined for another 30 minutes of discussion and questions. The hiring manager also suggested one more meeting where I'd need to prepare answers for specific job-related questions. The whole experience felt good and friendly, and I'm hopeful for an offer. It's been a while since I interviewed, but I felt comfortable and the opportunity seems challenging and interesting.
- Can you tell me about a project you managed that was successful, and walk me through its details and the final outcome?
AI Transformation Manager
Contacted by internal recruiting, had a 45 min phone interview with a recruiter. Then a 90 min online video interview that took longer than expected due to tech issues but should only take about an hour. Did not get the job, so unsure if the full process was completed.
- Can you tell me about your most significant accomplishment?
- What's an area you're currently working to improve upon, even if it's not a strength?
- Could you walk me through your job history for the past decade, or at least your last three positions?
Dmst
The interview process included a technical interview, then a manager interview, and finally a senior manager interview. These were all conducted via online chat, unless you are in a location near a regional headquarters. The technical interview focuses on knowledge of LG specific products and systems, so experience with them is beneficial.
- Can you explain how component "x" in this system controls "y"?
