The interview wasn't too difficult, they asked direct questions about how I would contribute to the company. It seemed like they were hiring based on actual contributions rather than potential. It was mostly behavioral questions and some Excel questions.

The interview process involved one phone interview and one onsite interview. The company has good employee relations but their internal processes are a bit unclear. Working from home is no longer permitted. If you know Korean, you'll get the job right away. There's a lot of cultural diversity, which is a plus.

First up was a phone call with the recruiter. They let me know the managers wanted to interview me and asked about my salary expectations. They scheduled the interview within 2 days. The interview with 3 Korean managers went well. About an hour after the interview, the recruiter called back saying they couldn't match my salary expectations and asked if I had any wiggle room for $20,000 less. I told them a hard no. It felt like a waste of my time. They tried to lowball. If my expectations were outside their budget, why did they proceed with an interview and waste both my time and theirs?

So, I interviewed for a job, and it kicked off with a phone chat with HR. We mostly talked about my background, what I'm good at, and why I want this job. They were super nice and just wanted to get to know me. After that, they had me come in for an on-site interview. This part was with different people from the team and some bosses. We went deep into my experience and how my skills would fit the job. It was pretty good, they told me about what it's like to work there and what they expect.
