First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Lewis Roca.
Attorney
I had an HR screening, then some phone interviews. After that I went to their office for in person interviews. It took a few weeks.
- What is your motivation for seeking a new opportunity?
Summer Associate
I had one on-campus interview with two attorneys, and then a second, more significant interview at the firm with six attorneys. For the second interview, they walked me from one attorney's office to another. This group was about half partners and half associates. They were primarily looking to see if I was a good personality fit and didn't ask any tough legal questions or test my knowledge. Everyone was really nice and friendly. They extended an offer just two days after the interview because they felt I was a good fit.
- What made you decide to attend law school?
Litigation Associate
I had an informal screening interview with a hiring committee attorney. It was really laid-back, more like chatting with a coworker than a formal interview. I got a good feel for the firm, why this attorney (who was about my age) decided to join, and what makes the firm unique. Apparently, they weren't really looking to hire at my level, but they met with me anyway. This was the whole process.
- Considering you're currently at a small firm, what makes you want to join a large one?
Associate
The partner called to chat about the role. We discussed my background and billing rates. We also went over the type of work, clients, and talked about the partnership track and promotion.
- What's prompting your job search?
